Each year The Refuge is able to add a few more decorations to make the place look special. As family, it is not just one person who decorates but youth are also encouraged to help decorate as this is their home as well. Please consider providing general lights and Christmas decorations or a decorated Christmas Tree.

Christmas can often be a cold and lonely time. For many of the youth coming to The Refuge, Christmas reminds them of rejection by family and the fact that they are alone. Most of the youth at The Refuge do not like the Christmas season since it brings to light the abuse, conflict and abandonment that has shadowed their lives.

During the Christmas season The Refuge seeks to be a place of love and encouragement; to be a ‘home’ for the youth where they experience the unconditional love of the very first Christmas that took place hundreds of years ago.
