Each year an estimated 70% of youth experiencing homelessness lose or have their ID stolen. Without ID, however, one cannot receive government assistance or get a job. The Refuge helps youth obtain replacement ID so that they can continue to take forward steps. Please consider providing replacement ID for one youth or for 10 youth.
Description
Sometimes it is the little things that mean the most. A hug at the right moment. A warm cup of coffee when you are cold. A ride when you are exhausted and think you cannot take another step.
At The Refuge, many little things are done to show the youth that they are valued and valuable, small things to relieve stress and pain, seemingly insignificant acts that bring hope for another day. And isn’t that what Christmas is really about – a little ‘package’ born many years ago that means so much to us today.
