Access to safe, affordable and appropriate housing is so important to creating stability in your life and to accomplishing personal goals. The Refuge can help specifically with housing from helping with housing searches, providing access to housing resources in the community, or though our Housing First for youth program.
General Housing Help
We would love to help you find housing. Whether it is using our computers to find apartments, help with filling out applications, going with you to viewings or helping you access a source of income (OW or ODSP) or a source for the security deposit, we would love to help you. Give us a call or send us an e-mail or just drop in sometime and we can discuss how we can come alongside you to help you secure appropriate and safe housing.
Housing First for Youth
Our Housing First for youth program can offer you a bit more than our general housing help option. The goal of our Housing First for youth program is not just to help you find a place that you can call home but also to help you stay housed and to help you progress well towards your goals and independence. There are two main rules for the program. The first is that you pay your rent on time and the second is that you meet weekly with your Housing First for Youth worker. There is currently a waiting list for this program but to find out more and to see if you qualify, please contact one of our Housing First for Youth workers.
