Once basic needs have been met, youth can begin to work on positive life change. But this does not easily come to the youth of The Refuge as a harsh, painful history often holds them back. The Refuge offers several programs that provide opportunities for positive life change.
The Kaleidoscope Art program uses art to bring about discussion, healing from past hurts, the feeling of accomplishment and creativity.
Wilderness Rocs is an outdoors program that takes youth on a three-day camping/adventure trip to learn a series of life-impacting objectives.
The Landing is an addictions program designed to deal with many different types of addictions. The focus is to look at root causes, coping mechanisms and plans for overcoming such hurts, habits and hangups.
