Dinner

Food is one of our most basic needs. Without food we cannot live. Without knowing from where our next meal will come, we cannot move towards our goals and towards meeting higher needs on Maslow’s list. This is also true for the hundreds of youth that come to The Refuge each year. Without their basic needs being met, they cannot undertake positive life change and the furthering of their goals. Each year, The Refuge provides over 18,000 meals and snacks. Meals are nutritious, balanced and provide dignity, love and the knowledge that someone cares for them. Dinners are provided every week day through a variety of evening programs. Rec Room meals often are a light meal and can include soup or chili. Friday nights are ‘family night’ where current and past youth can eat dinner in a fun and positive environment.
